Tongue of the Ocean
The ocean wall or Tongue of the Ocean is a deep oceanic trench in the Bahamas that separates the islands of Andros and New Providence. The trench has a U shape which is approximately 20 miles wide and 150 miles long. This truly is an exceptional spectacle, and a site that you will not want to pass up. The trench is surrounded by numerous islands, reefs, and shoals which are all isolated from ocean disturbances. This allows you to see sea wildlife truly undisturbed, and a wide variety of sea life without much travel distance.
Seeing the Tongue of the Ocean is an amazing site, diving down and seeing it close up and personal is something that is truly hard to describe. You will find coral that goes on further than your eyes can see and shelves that go down further than almost any other dive you will find.
If you’re looking for an experience in the Bahamas that pinpoints the highest part of your vacation than this should be the one. The dive is amazing and will give you a glimpse of how magnificent the sea can really be.
